Christine L. Podles

Michelle F. Kraus, LNHA, MHSA   
Interim Executive Director

"IKF exhibits a group of dedicated and loyal people who form a united community of exceptional residents and staff members."

Michelle is a Senior Executive with over 22 years of experience in Long Term Care. Most recently, Michelle served as Vice President of Operations for Vero Health Management overseeing four long term care facilities in Massachusetts and Georgia. The majority of Michelle's leadership and operations experiences derived from her 18 year tenure as Senior Administrator at Arcola Health and Rehabilitation Center in Silver Spring, Maryland. She consistently achieved operational excellence in areas of Quality Assurance Performance Improvement, CMS Five-Star Quality Ratings, Joint Commission Accreditations, annual Federal/State regulatory survey results, financial profitability, fiscal activity, employee stability and customer satisfaction. Michelle has a proven ability to formulate performance-based business and strategic decisions, and utilize her analytical talents to yield compelling results. Her ability to motivate and lead others stems from a passion to educate, counsel and empower individuals professionally. She believes in valuing the integrity and dignity of others while triumphing in the respectful delivery of person-centered quality of service.

A Graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park with a Master of Health Services Administration from The George Washington University, she spent the duration of her academic career as an active member of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Society. Michelle has held an active NHA license since 1997. She maintains her certification as a preceptor to mentor and coach administrators who are in training. She is a recipient of the 2008 Administrator of the Year Award from the Health Facilities Association of Maryland. She lead Arcola Health and Rehabilitation Center in achieving the 2012 American Health Care Association (ACHA) Bronze Award-Commitment to Quality. In 2009, Michelle was appointed by the Governor to the Maryland State Board of examiners for Nursing Home Administrators. In 2016, she was selected to act as the Board Chairperson. Michelle is a long term resident of Montgomery County where she resides with her husband and family in the Lakelands/Kentlands community. Michelle’s younger son is a freshman at Quince Orchard High School and her oldest son is currently a freshman in the scholars program at the Smith School of business at the University of Maryland.

 

Elaine Koubek

Assistant Director

Elaine has had many positions at Ingleside, starting as the Move-In Coordinator. She has helped members transition into their homes at Ingleside. Currently Elaine holds the position of Assistant Director of Ingleside, handling Resident Services, and overseeing many of the committees at Ingleside. She is a CARF surveyor through the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. She holds a degree is advertising and copywriting from the University of Washington. Elaine's father was Japanese and her mother was German. She speaks both languages and lived in Japan for some time.

 

Frank

Frank Romonoski, CASP
General Manager

"I love being a part of a team that is helping to shape and mold a comfortable, safe, and desirable community for today and the future. It is both fulfilling and humbling."

Frank is a 25 year veteran in the Continuing Care Retirement Community industry. He holds an associate’s degree in dietetics and a bachelor’s degree in business.  Frank has a passion for hospitality and service excellence. An entrepreneur at heart, Frank developed, branded and operated a 5 star rated bed and breakfast. In his role as General Manager he brings a hospitality and customer service focus to the community operations.  Frank is responsible for the oversight of environmental services, plant operations and maintenance, housekeeping, dining services, grounds and security.  Frank enjoys biking, backyard barbecues and traveling.

 

Monique Elizer

Chaplain

"Pleasures are plentiful here; what pleases me most are the open hearts and caring spirits who populate Ingleside at King Farm—a terrific place to work and live!"

A graduate of Princeton Seminary, Richard Thayer has served congregations large and small, from New York City to San Francisco Bay. His thirty year career has included campus ministry at Stanford University, Hospice Chaplaincy with Capital Caring, and leading churches in both Virginia and Maryland. As Chaplain of Ingleside at King Farm, he serves all of our members and staff with spiritual support, leadership in weekly Vespers worship, and simply caring when called. Erstwhile sailor and fly-fisherman, Richard currently spends time away from Ingleside not on the water, alas, but renovating the townhouse where he and wife Myra raised three children into adulthood: they are at last making the place their own.

 

Pamela Mills

Director of Memory Support Programs

"I love being of service and assuring the provision of person-centered programs within our Memory Care communities. Listening to and learning from every person, affirms for me the heart-felt value of what we do. There is no greater joy than knowing how much we all make a difference."

Pamela has a passion for working in the aging services field, serving for over 20 years, primarily in long term care and assisted living communities as a Life Enrichment professional. She holds a Master's Degree in the Management of Aging Services from UMBC, a professional license as a Recreation Therapist and is a certified Dementia practitioner and staff trainer. Away from work she enjoys spending time with her husband, his daughter, 3 cats, a dog and their host of chickens; as well as multiple creative and outdoor activities, including writing, painting, hiking, and kayaking.

 

Johnny Smith

"I am passionately committed to making a positive impact in the lives of others. Having a career with Ingleside at King Farm affords me the privilege of connecting with wonderful residents and serving the community. Who can ask for more?"

A graduate of James Madison University, Johnny has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems. Johnny has a 26-year proven track record of success that spans all aspects of IT management, including network administration, integration, implementation, strategic planning, and project deployment. Johnny possesses a unique talent for delivering highly complex technical information into terms and concepts that the end users can readily grasp. In his spare time, one can find Johnny spending time with his family, listening to music, participating in or watching sports, and tinkering with old computers.

 

Kristina Pare

Kristina Paré is a certified marketing professional with more than 20 years of sales and marketing experience in the CCRC industry. A native Washingtonian, Kristina earned her BS degree in Health Science/Community Health Education from Towson University. She also studied at the University of Surrey in Guildford, England. Kristina was the Director of Development first and later the Director of Marketing and Admissions for The Presbyterian Home of the District of Columbia now known as Ingleside at Rock Creek. Kristina relocated to Charlottesville, VA to work for a growing not for profit CCRC. She held several marketing positions including Marketing Director. Recently, Kristina pre-marketed and opened a new community as Marketing Director in Crozet, VA. She also became an Osher Life Long Learning Institute (OLLI) instructor for the University of Virginia, teaching a popular course on navigating senior living options. The chance to rejoin the Ingleside organization brought Kristina back to Maryland and "city life".

 

Carol Davis

"I am delighted to be part of the Ingleside Team and work with such a vibrant and engaged community."

Carole came to the US from the UK to work at the British Embassy in Washington DC. Originally here for a three year period, she fell in love with the US and twenty years later is still here. While at the Embassy she worked in several different areas, including the Defense Trade Office and the Press and Public Affairs Department. She has also worked in film, television, theatre and real estate. During a transitional period, she volunteered for Meals on Wheels in her neighborhood. In her free time, she likes to garden, hike and dance.

 

Beth Haas

"I am pleased to be part of a growing, service oriented organization that values innovation and excellence in all areas of a continuing care community.   The staff is dedicated and caring and it is truly a beautiful and special place."

Beth's responsibilities include financial accounting and reporting as well as helping the directors plan new initiatives. Beth is a Certified Public Accountant with over 15 years of experience. She has an MBA/MS in Accounting from Pace University in NY. She previously worked for Random House, Inc., BDO USA LLP and CW Financial Services and has been a contractor for Con Edison and United HealthCare. On weekends Beth, her husband and twin boys enjoy visiting parks, botanical gardens and aquariums.

 

Beth Haas

Erin A. Wheeler
Assistant Healthcare Administrator

"I am delighted to be a part of the exceptional staff at IKF! Providing high quality of living and excellent care take the type of motivated and passionate team found working within our community."

Beginning her healthcare career in 2003, Erin started as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist in Bethesda, Maryland. After realizing the joy that comes from working with the senior population, Erin began a twelve-year career with retired Military Veterans and their family members at the Army Distaff Foundation and Knollwood in the District of Columbia. In February of 2018, she joined the Ingleside at King Farm community as the Assistant Healthcare Administrator.

A graduate of Utah State University, Erin views learning as a life-long journey. She values education and experience which is utilized in her career as an Administrator. Erin became a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in the District of Columbia in January 2016 and expects to be licensed in Maryland soon.

In her free time, Erin enjoys spending time with her husband and three young children. She also enjoys hiking, traveling and creating adventures and memories with her kids!
