We are excited to welcome the Gaithersburg High School students to our summer certified nursing assistant program!

Last month, eight students from Gaithersburg High School began the summer Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Program at Ingleside at King Farm. After three years of hosting the program in the fall, Ingleside at King Farm is excited to hold the CNA program in the summer. This program delivers an excellent opportunity for high school students looking to begin a career in health care and offering the program in the summer will give more students a chance to participate.   

The High School Health Education Foundation, founded over a decade ago by neurologist Dr. William Leahy, and Ingleside at King Farm are sponsors of the CNA program, allowing accepted students to participate tuition-free. The students gain necessary clinical experience under the supervision of their instructor and Ingleside’s nursing staff. Students receive a Maryland Nursing Assistant State Certification upon course completion. In addition, they leave the program equipped with the training and experience needed to take the Geriatric Nursing Assistant exam and launch their health care career.

Ingleside at King Farm thanks the High School Health Education Foundation for their support of this program, and the Gaithersburg High School students for their participation. Ingleside at King Farm hopes to continue the CNA program for many years to come!
