Independent living: A day in the life

A day in the life today...Waking up in the morning, you find yourself smiling as you remember you’ll be meeting friends at an exercise class in an hour. You almost laugh because you still don’t know when staying physically fit became something you actually looked forward to.

After class, you’ll be stopping by the art studio to work a little on your latest water color. You absolutely love having the time to nurture your long dormant artistic side. The afternoon will be free, your choice, because this evening a group of you are going to the theater. As the community pre-planned the event and is providing the transportation, all you need to do is get ready for a wonderful evening with friends.

A day in the life then...What a difference moving into Independent Living has made in your life. Only a year ago you would have also started the day wondering what you would do - but the hours ahead were much harder to fill.

Depending on the season, there was always work to be done outside, shoveling or mowing the grass or finding someone who could clean the gutters. You had the best intentions to go to the gym or spend time at the library, but neither were close by. You wanted to join your friends for lunch but you started disliking the traffic. As the sun set on another day, you often began to feel a sense of isolation.

Are you ready to make the change?

If you’ve been feeling lonely, disappointed in the life you had looked forward to or simply exhausted from all the never-ending tasks of homeownership, there is one change you can make that can change everything else. In ways you may not have thought possible, that full and fulfilled life you were hoping for might be waiting for you in an Independent Living community.

This choice will allow you not only to appreciate all the advantages available but the right community will also offer a wonderful bonus. Many seniors say Independent Living is like spending time in a resort, enjoying many of the same amenities as when you are on vacation. And yet, this could be where you call home.

Set your priorities

Take a moment and think about what would be most important in choosing where you want to live?

  • Remaining independent?
  • Having a wide selection of programs on-site?
  • Easily accessible amenities that seem tailored to your interests?
  • Different dining opportunities and wide menu selections?
  • Eliminating worry with 24/7 security?
  • A totally maintenance-free life?
  • Being able to relax, knowing someone is there if you ever need help?

Imagine what your life could look like

If you’d like to know how satisfying and large your life could be, you owe it to yourself to visit a few Independent Living communities. If you haven’t already considered this option, you might be surprised to see how perfect the fit could be.

Not all communities are the same so you’ll want to do some on-line research and schedule personal tours. As you visit, you’ll be able to compare how they match up and which one offers the type of lifestyle you deserve.

Ingleside’s Independent Living communities

Like the example above, we’d love to show you just how different your life could be if you made your home at one of our engaging Independent Living communities. Ingleside communities are planned to support their residents in living a healthy and meaningful retirement life. This is accomplished by our belief that you need to nourish your body, mind and soul to achieve the highest quality of life possible.

Imagine motivation and actual fun when you visit our fitness center or take a swim in our indoor heated pool. Engage your mind with our classes and scheduled presentations. And we make sure there are plenty of opportunities to socialize with your neighbors and new friends.
