Share a succulent, Chef-prepared luncheon at IKF

blog-chefdemo-ikf.jpgResidents of Ingleside at King Farm enjoy succulent meals every day prepared by Executive Chef Pierre Matsangakis and his professional kitchen staff.

Now you can sample the cuisine residents rave about at a Chef Demonstration hosted by Chef Pierre and Registered Dietitian Gloria Murray. You’re invited to share a special dine-and-learn luncheon at 1 p.m. May 20 at Ingleside at King Farm.

Chef Pierre and Gloria will demonstrate preparation of several dishes with fresh, seasonal components and will talk about the health benefits of each ingredient.

The menu includes a zingy citrus avocado salad and an entrée of grilled rockfish, root vegetables and sweet potato mash. The meal will conclude with a mouth-watering dessert of fresh berries with zabaglione.

French-born Chef Pierre brings classing cooking skills to the job. He studied culinary arts at the College des Beaux Arts in Lille, France, and worked in exclusive restaurants and hotels such as Café du Rhone in Paris and L’Auberge du Roi in Normandie. After moving to the United States, he served as executive sous chef at Jean Louis and Le Provencale in Washington, D.C. He opened and operated the Chef Theo’s restaurants in the Metro D.C. area.

As he worked under some of the stars of the French culinary profession, Chef Pierre developed his own unique flair, which reflects a healthy, down-to-earth lifestyle. His preference is to allow the natural flavors of food to express themselves.

At Ingleside at King Farm, Chef Pierre’s cuisine is notable for use of the freshest, highest quality organic ingredients, which he seeks out from nearby farmers.

Gloria earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Seton Hall College and a Master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She has worked as a Registered Dietitian at Ingleside at King Farm for the past 15 months.

Don’t miss this opportunity to sample Chef Pierre’s outstanding cuisine and learn about the nutritional value of fresh, seasonal ingredients from Gloria. You’ll also be able to tour Ingleside at King Farm, a unique continuing care retirement community dedicated to active, elegant and engaged living for seniors. Complimentary valet parking will be provided.

Space is limited for this event. Please R.S.V.P. by calling 240-205-7085.
